Here are my seven --- more albums, than single songs, for reasons I will explain. Thanks Willow for this meme .... I love music of all kinds, and this was fun!

1) The Beatles White Album.

I remember being in high school when this album was released, and I saved my pennies to buy it. My husband and I recently saw the film "Across The Universe," and many of the songs sung in the movie were from this album, amongst other Beatles album songs. I took the album off the shelf to listen to it again. It is a true classic and the genius of legends Lennon and McCarthy shine bright in this double album collection with songs such as Revolution, Dear Prudence, Back in The USSR, etc.

2) Bo Bice-- See The Light.

If you read my blog regularly, you will know by now that I am a big fan of his! This CD is in my car CD player and I listen to it whenever I drive, as it makes me happy! It was produced by his his own label, and all the songs were written or co-written by Bo, and it is a true reflection of his southern rock sound, unlike the first POP album he was made to release by RCA after he came in second place on American Idol season 4. He is a marvelous performer, and when I see him I feel like a teenager again. I especially like the songs "I'm Gone," "This Train." and the title song "See The Light." Actually, I like all the songs! Please don't judge him by his long hair -- he's done many charitable acts since becoming famous -- and he will be entertaining our troops for the second time in Afghanistan this fall with "Stars & Stripes" this fall. He's a really good guy!

3) Deja Vu --Crosby Stills Nash & Young

I am fan of the CBS News Sunday Morning Show and last Sunday they did a segment about David Crosby, formally of the band Crosby, Stills Nash and Young. Again, it made me take down one of their albums from my shelf, one that I had bought years ago, called "Deja Vu" Another classic of that era, with songs such as "Teach Your Children," "Helpless" and the title track " Deja Vu," etc. They had a very soothing, mellow, and harmonic sound.

4) A Hundred Miles or More: A Collection Laison Kraus and John Waite

I found this CD for loan in the library this week, and took it home to listen to it as I just recently discovered Alison Kraus when I was searching for a song to accompany my blog post about the thrill I had learning I would become a grandmother in early December. I found the song "Baby Mine" and fell in love with Alison's voice. It is on this album, along with a few other songs like "Missing You" that I enjoy. She sings in duet with John Waite.

5) The Metropolitan Opera Guild Presents More Growing Up with Opera

I bought this CD in the Metropolitan Opera gift shop this past winter and I've been listening to it ever since! It was on sale at deep discount at the time, and I couldn't resist it as it has many of my favorite arias on it, plus some I was not familiar with, and it has a nice informational booklet inside that has a parent's guide to each aria and information about the opera it is part of. I bought this, and another in the series, to pass on to my son and daughter-in-law to play for "baby to be" I'd be thrilled to develop a third generation opera lover in our family! Don't you love the cover, obviously drawn by a child? I can't figure out which opera this depicts! It could be so many.

6) The Very Best of Jethro Tull

I bought my husband a device the transfers vinyl albums to CD and MP3 format as a Father's Day gift this year, and he has been happily transferring his large collection of albums ever since. We are going to see one of his favorite groups this summer, Jethro Tull, at The Jones Beach Theater, as that was a gift from our daughter as a Mother's Day / Father's Day gift. I might not be the group's biggest fan, but I do enjoy a lot of their songs and the lead singer, Ian Anderson's one legged flute playing. I'm sure everyone is familiar with his song "Aqualung." Many of the groups biggest hits are on this album.

7) Great Recordings Of The Century - Strauss, R.: Salome / Karajan, Behrens, Van Dam, Baltsa, et al [ORIGINAL RECORDING REMASTERED]

Last, but certainly not least, as I didn't put these selections in any particular order, is another library loan of this week: "Great Recordings Of The Century, " of the Richard Strauss opera "Salome." We will be seeing this opera in the upcoming 08-09 NYC Metropolitan Opera season, and I wanted to familiarize myself with the music. I am really looking forward to it! Now that I finished this tag I'd like to follow the rules and tag 7 more people to see if they would like to play along....
